Job description:
The Vienna-wide doctoral program (Doktoratskolleg) Particles and Interactions (DK-PI) invites applications for PhD studentships, starting May 2014 or thereafter, in theoretical and experimental particle physics institutions of the University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Technology and two institutes of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Institute of High Energy Physics and Stefan-Meyer-Institute).

For details on the research opportunities and admission procedure visit http://dkpi.at

Students from all countries are welcome to apply. Since DK-PI doctoral students will have to be enrolled at one of the Vienna universities, they have to fulfill the criteria for doctoral studies of the two universities. For this they need in particular a completed Master (or equivalent) degree. In addition they should have very good English language skills.

The DK-PI seeks to increase the percentage of women in physics and therefore specifically invites applications by women. Among equally qualified applicants women will receive preferential consideration.

Deadlines: There will be up to three calls per year for applications to the doctoral program. The next deadline is May 31st, 2015. Upon electronic submission a confirmation mail will be sent within 1 day (if not, please contact the DK-PI coordinator). Candidates shortlisted for admission will be invited to a selection workshop about one month after the application deadline.
